Capturing Longwood Gardens engagement photos with Sarah and Fred was an inspiring experience led by the elements of their love story. Working with them on engagement pictures in Philadelphia was a journey to be savored, long before they say I do. Step inside their Longwood Gardens engagement session through the details and images below.

Sophisticated Engagement Photos At Longwood Gardens

Selecting Longwood Gardens for Your Engagement Photos

Just outside of Philadelphia, in Kennett Square, lies Longwood Gardens. Stretched across over 1000 acres, Longwood Gardens is a transportive experience allowing those who visit to be enveloped by a plentiful showcase of native plants and blooming vegetation. What once began as a simple family farm turned into a preservation and soon a public garden that is one of the country’s leading horticultural displays.

Today, the public space at Longwood Gardens is open to visitors for engagement photos. The vast landscape of the romanticized outdoor gardens provides space in quiet corners where you can be fully present, in each other’s company, and focus on what matters most. Stone stairways become a place to linger amongst the topiaries and share a kiss, while garden paths shape your leisurely stroll through the grounds, holding each other’s hands.

Working with Sarah and Fred to capture their Longwood Gardens engagement photos throughout the afternoon was a glimpse into the love they share. For each moment they embraced one another gently, or gazed longingly into each other’s eyes, I was present to capture the genuine emotions they felt, surrounded by the delicate flowers.

Engagement Photos At Longwood Gardens Filled with an Abundance of Soft Light

That afternoon at Longwood Gardens, Sarah and Fred’s engagement session was swathed in an abundance of natural light. The gardens, in all their splendor, are a sight to behold. Waking through the tree-lined paths, beyond the benches, and through the glass conservatory is an awe-driven experience that often leaves me filled with a new sense of inspired creativity.

However, when the light spills over the tree tops and drenches the stone structures in a golden glow, there is an added sense of renewal to Philadelphia engagement photos captured in this space.

The light dancing overhead was an opportunity for Sarah and Fred to allow the world to melt away, focus on their moment, and let the unbound joy of their union be revealed. As a Philadelphia engagement photographer, my approach to creating images in these moments is to guide my couples when needed while allowing the sentiment of their feelings for each other to shape the experience we create.

Engagements are so short-lived, yet entirely worthy of celebrating. All too often, when a couple becomes engaged, the focus quickly shifts to wedding planning. These moments from dating to engaged, before wedding planning begins, are perhaps the sweet spot. It’s a time to relish, long before it becomes ‘remember when we were newly engaged’.

Be present, make the most of it, and, just as Sarah and Fred did, find a location to capture engagement pictures in Philadelphia that feels worthy of becoming part of your own enchanting love story.
