Rachael and Chris’s wedding at White Chimneys in Gap, PA this past Sunday was filled with personal touches and it was very Christ centered. I remember when they were inquiring with me… that was exactly how they described their dream day to be: very Christ centered! I got so excited when they booked me as their wedding photographer because I truly believe that when a wedding has the right focus, the married life will be a blessing. And I am all about the couple’s married life, not only their wedding day!
Rachael and Chris’s story is one of the sweetest. You know, those that make you melt when watching it unfold in romantic movies. They met in high school and became best friends. Then, together, they started going to church and seeing their lives being transformed as they served Jesus!
After a few years dating, Chris proposed to Rachael in Paris. That’s right PARIS!!! He went down on one knee and asked Rachael to be his wife right in front of the Eiffel Tower. I told you this is a super romantic love story that seems to be just right out of the movies…
Rachael and Chris are so joyful and deeply in love. They are so relaxed and laidback and spending the day with them gave me all the feels. I cried behind my camera, I smiled big watching the formal dances and laughed hard during toasts!
Their day started at the venue in the morning. The girls got their hair and makeup at the bridal suite, a small but cute cottage at White Chimneys. The guys headed to the loft in the barn and spent the day hanging out and playing video games!
They chose not to see each other before the ceremony, but Rachael did have a first look with her father. He then took his daughter by the arm and walked down the aisle an emotional, stunning bride. There, at the altar, tearful and joyful was Chris, waiting for his bride along with 200 friends and family.
At the ceremony, Rachael and Chris chose to wash each other’s feet as a sign of humility and service to one another. During the vows, Chris proclaimed once again how in love he is with Rachael, and she remembered how, several years ago, when they met, she said to herself: “One day I want to marry a guy who looks at me the way Chris does.” Little did she know that HE was the one who would forever look at her…
During their reception, the now Mr. and Mrs. Kuz chose to serve dinner to their guests. Along with the entire bridal party, they put on aprons and served everyone. Service was for sure the main theme of their wedding!
Rachael and Chris, thank you for trusting me and inviting me into your lives on your special day. I am honored to have witnessed and registered your YES to one another and to Christ as you entered the covenant of marriage. Many blessings on your forever after…
