I have to admit, Paris has stolen a special place in my heart. It began with my work at the historic Château Saint Georges. A gorgeous wedding venue that is a  beautiful work of architecture filled with stories from a time long past. But what keeps me coming back to Paris over and over again is the romantic atmosphere of the city. A walk down the boulevards is not simply a means to get to your destination. It’s a leisurely stroll best enjoyed with a stop at a local café. Every sight passed along the way is ornamental and enhances the experience of being immersed in the city. Not to mention, the iconic landmarks provide an unforgettable backdrop. Allowing Paris to live up to its nickname as the city of lights, and the most romantic city in the world.

But most of all, the thing about Paris that beckons my return is that it’s a city for lovers. Paris is for couples who are newly engaged and are about to embark on a lifelong journey together. The joyful couples who are bursting at the seams over the idea of celebrating each and every moment of their engagement, before their wedding day arrives. Your engagement is going to feel like such a fleeting moment during the lead-up to your wedding day. But it’s a moment that should be savored and enjoyed before you make the leap from engaged to married. Many of my couples find that the biggest way to honor that moment is with an engagement photo shoot. If your heart, much like mine, is pulling you in the direction of Paris for your engagement photos, I have a few recommendations for you.

Firstly, and this might seem obvious, but pre-plan as far in advance as you are able to. My second recommendation is to select at least two chic outfits for the day of your shoot. Parisians are known for their sense of fashion along with their love of architecture, art, food, and wine. So selecting attire that emulates the essence of the city is key in creating unforgettable engagement photos before your wedding. Lastly, you’ll want a photographer who is familiar with the city. One who knows how to capture photos away from heavy foot traffic so you have the city all to yourselves.
