This Chic & Classic Excelsior Wedding in Lancaster, PA was absolutely gorgeous in every way!

I absolutely adore all of my couples. But, there are times when some couples cross the threshold into friendship. During the planning process of their wedding, I quickly became friends with Lexi & Chris!

Lexi and Chris met each other the good old-fashioned way, on Match.com! Chris “liked” one of Lexi’s photos and from there the couple messaged each other back and forth for a few weeks. One fateful night, Lexi was out with friends enjoying some Moscow Mules when she worked up the courage to send Chris this message; “are we gonna text forever or are you going to finally take me on a real date“. They met in person and the rest, as they say, was history!

Admittedly, Chris is a spreadsheet, list-making kind of guy. Which came in particularly handy when they set out to begin the wedding planning process. However, there was one particular item, that needed no list-making once they laid eyes on it. Their wedding venue! The couple instantly fell in love with Excelsior. Lexi and Chris loved the versatility that Excelsior has to offer with its combination of looks featured throughout the property.

Before it was time to meet down the aisle. Lexi and Chris chose to have a first look accompanied by a gift exchange. Back when they first got engaged, they told me that one of the things they were most excited about in their married life, was adding a dog to their family! They had been talking about getting a golden retriever for years, but they were waiting for the right moment. So, during their first look, Lexi surprised Chirs by gifting him a dog collar. Isn’t that the sweetest gesture? I love how personal it is to them!

For their ceremony, they used the venue’s high beams and wood slat floors to play into their wedding day experience. Their ceremony was modern with Jewish traditions mixed in. Including the breaking of the glass and reciting their vows under a chuppah, which was created by the bride’s mother & sister. Knowing that the Chuppah was created by Lexi’s Mom and sister, was such a beautiful touch because, during his vows, one of the biggest things Chris mentioned about his love for Lexi is how family-oriented she is!

Once the glass was broken, and Lexi & Chris were pronounced as the new Mr. and Mrs., we set off around Lancaster to take their wedding portraits. The day was so amazing, it was as if the gorgeous light followed us everywhere we went. From there, the rest of their wedding day was a whirlwind of cocktail hour, celebration, dancing, a traditional hora dance, a champagne tower, and an ice cream cart.
